At our meeting in March, Beth Wells, the AZ site organizer for Conquer Chiari’s Annual Walk Across America, spoke about the need for finding sponsors and volunteers for our Walk. Included in the email are attachments you can print and take with you for the sponsors to fill out. The Corporate Sponsor Opportunities Form lists the various ways and levels that corporations may become involved with the Walk. The Donated Items Form and The Phoenix AZ Flyer give specific information about our participation in the 2013 6th annual Walk Across America to Conquer Chiari. Please give of your energy and time to help make this one of the biggest and best Walks, ever!
Those of you who are diagnosed with syringomyelia- please be aware that the C&S Patient Education Foundation was established for research in both Chiari and syringomyelia and a large amount of information is available at http://www.conquerchiari.org. In fact, the initials C & S are for Chiari and syringomyelia and the Foundation was formed in 2003 by Rick Labuda who was diagnosed with both of these conditions.
Please help contribute in any way you can- with a neighborhood fundraiser, challenge your friends to a bowling party, or host online games. Anything legitimate to get a sponsor’s name placed on the back of our t-shirt! Rules and regulations are stated on the forms so please help us make this year the biggest and OUR WALK one of the largest fundraisers in the Walk Across America to Conquer Chiari and fund research for treating these conditions.
ASAP’s Conference news is also on our list of exciting news and the very latest is at http://www.asap.org. A list of confirmed speakers and topics and those pending are shown as well as all conference and hotel information fees. This is an opportunity to hear and meet the top research and medical personnel that specialize in Chiari, syringomyelia, tethered cord, and related neurological conditions. Rarely is the conference site located this close to Phoenix and Tucson and the schedule of speakers is another enticement. Limited scholarships are available by applying through the ASAP office and http://www.asap.org.
